Bemused Guy

This was what I'd call a "problem sketch." I wanted this guy to have a moody or tormented expression, but somehow he ended up looking puzzled or bemused. Or perhaps a bit bummed out that he wasn't able to go surfing today. Or something.

I had wanted to do some more tweaking on this drawing (which has had a major overhaul in Photoshop already) because if I added a mask, he might have made a good Pretty Phantom. I kind of had a Phantom character in mind when I started drawing him. But I've decided that . . . well, put a fork in him. He is done. No matter how much Photoshop work I do on him, this boy ain't ever gonna be right. I'll just write this off as an interesting drawing that will never be more than what it is now—flawed, but not quite worth tossing out.
